- Act as Project Lunch Club mentor and help lead meetings and plan programs and activities. Download Mentor Overview Here
- Advocate for the Project Lunch Standards and school food policies amongst the PTA and school administration.
- Educate other parents about healthy eating, sustainable food, and waste free lunches.
Healthy and sustainable eating start at home
- Buy organic whenever possible to reduce pesticide exposure, protecting your health and the environment
- Patronize the Farmer’s Market, supporting your local economy and interacting with the people that grow your food
- Eat seasonally - its tastier and has a way lower carbon footprint
- Cook with your children and eat as a family
- Grow it yourself with a home garden - whether its a full veggie garden or herbs in your windowsill, you’ll have a stronger connection with your food when you pick it yourself
- Shop the outside aisles of the market where you’ll find the fresh, whole foods - try to decrease consumption of processed foods
- Join a local CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) to have fresh, organic produce delivered directly to your home
- Minimize packaging waste by eliminating plastic and using reusables and BYObag whenever you shop
- Partner up with friends to buy in bulk, you’ll end up saving money and packaging.
